Collection: Linsey-Woolsey Past Garments

These are a collection of garments I have made in years past from my own hand-wove Linsey-Woolsey. Each piece began at the wheel and the loom, with the yarn spun, the cloth designed, warped, and woven here in my shop. From there, every garment was cut and sewn by hand, using methods suited to the time period it represents. You will see petticoats, short gowns, shirts, waistcoats, and other pieces, each one shaped to the needs of 18th- and early 19th-century wear.

These examples are shown so you may have a clearer notion of the colors, weave patterns, and styles that can be made from my Linsey-Woolsey. Many of these garments were made to order, and I am always glad to speak with you about something similar, whether for French & Indian War, Revolutionary War, the 1790s, or War of 1812 impressions.

My cloth takes no fewer than nine hours per yard to produce, and each garment requires careful planning and hand-finishing. Should you wish for a piece of your own, kindly contact me, and I will see what I can do to meet your wishes.
