This outfit is made from my hand-spun, hand-wove Linsey-Woolsey. The petticoat shows broad stripes of color, bordered at each side with natural linen and a narrow band of the same hue. The wool is a mix of natural white and the colors I dye myself—brown, rust, and green. The short gown is woven chiefly in green, with single stripes of natural, brown, and rust set at intervals to give a modest and pleasing pattern.
All my Linsey-Woolsey garments are custom made. I have no fewer than nine hours in each yard of cloth, from the first designing and warping to the weaving and final sewing. They do take time, yet I am glad to make them for those who value such work. If you have a mind for a particular garment, kindly contact me, and I shall see what I can do to meet your wishes.
