Muffattees are like a mitten with the fingers open. These short Wool muffs are totally acceptable for the 18th century. They are shaped to fit your wrist with no ribbing (because ribbing as we know it did not come into play until mid 19th century) and have a knit-in gore at the thumb. Perfect for use today as well, at the computer, texting, playground, around the house or anywhere you want to keep your hands and fingers warm but need to be able to use your fingers. To figure sizes, measure around your hand below the knuckles.
Bartlett 100% wool sports weight or hand spun yarn is used for these hand knit mitts. All yarn has been shrunk before knitting. The colors also match the "Hat" colors so you can order a matched set.
Washing instructions: Place in laundry bag, machine wash gentle cycle, keep water temperature same, lay flat to dry.
