Hand-Knit & Fulled Woollen Caps
These caps are knit by hand from Bartlett’s 100% wool yarn, using the sports weight so they remain not too heavy, yet pleasantly warm. Each is fulled after knitting to give a firm, felted body. They ought not shrink further — though I do beg you, no dryer. As every one is made by hand, the striping may vary a little from cap to cap.
This style of hat is an old and trusted one, known from the late 1600s and worn throughout the 18th century and well into the 19th.
We keep several sizes and colors on hand. Should we be out of a particular one, you may pre-order, and I shall knit it for you; kindly allow 3 to 5 weeks. And if you see a color shown in the pictures but not listed, simply contact me and I will make it up to your liking.
A Lavender Sachet may be had as well, which helps keep your woollens fresh and safe from the moth.
These Woolen caps shall be dispatched by U.S. Mail, either Priority or Ground, as you desire. Simply make your preference known, and we shall see to it that Your order will go out from our local rural post office.
