Woollen Cap with Rolled Brim – A Fitted Toque of Historical Form
This warm woollen cap is shaped to the head, with a rounded crown and a clever rolled brim, allowing the length to be adjusted according to the wearer’s need or comfort. It is a single-layer cap of medium weight, suited to persons interpreting the 17th century through the early 19th. Its plain, practical shape makes it well-suited to both common and frontier impressions.
Each is knit by hand from Bartlett’s 100% wool yarn, a stout and faithful fibre. Should you desire greater distinction, the same may be wrought of handspun yarn upon special commission. In all cases, the yarn hath been preshrunk before knitting, to ensure faithful wear and ease of care.
This same yarn is employed in our hand-wear offerings, that you may furnish yourself with a set both handsome and well-matched.
Should your desired size or colour not be presently at hand, fear not. I shall gladly knit to order. Please allow a fortnight or two for completion. For handspun commissions, a span of three to four months may be required for spinning and knitting alike. Kindly inquire for colour availability.
Care Instructions: Place the item in a laundry bag; wash on the gentlest cycle, maintaining even water temperature throughout. Lay flat to dry.
A Lavender Sachet may also be had, to lay amongst your woollens and preserve them from the moth.
