Muffs are an elbow-length mitten with open fingers. Great for 18th century outfits with shorter sleeves to keep your entire arm warm on those chilly days and still be able to work with your fingers. These are my pattern developed from a picture of an original. They are shaped to fit your wrist and arm with a knit in gore at the thumb that contours to your hand, just like the original ones. Bartlett 100 % wool yarn is used for these hand knit long mitts. I shrink all my yarn before knitting it. The colors also match the "Hat" colors making it convenient for you to order a matched set.
If I don't have the color or size in stock, no worries, you may pre-order, it may take me up to 3-5 weeks to get them knit just for you. You may also custom order any color pictured in photos. Order "Choose Color Later" and I will contact you for your choice of color. Hand spun can be special ordered, this may take up to 2 months to spin and knit for you. Washing instructions: Place in laundry bag, machine wash gentle cycle, keep water temperature same, lay flat to dry. To figure sizes, measure around your hand below the knuckles.
